DHB-D3-LIN vs DHB-D1-LIN — Which One Do You Need?

These two ballasts look very similar but are not interchangeable. The key difference is the globe type they are designed to drive:

DHB-D3-LIN (this product): For D3S and D3R globes — used in Santa Fe (2014+), Sorento, Sportage, K900, i30 (2015+), i40 Facelift.

DHB-D1-LIN: For D1S and D1R globes — used in i30 (2011–2015), i40 (2011–2015), Genesis Coupe, Kia Ceed.

Always check the globe type and part number on your original ballast before ordering. The part number is printed on the label on the top of the unit.

Fault Diagnosis — Is It the Ballast or the Globe?

Before replacing the ballast, it is worth confirming the fault lies with the control module rather than the HID globe itself. The simplest test is to swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side. If the light still fails to ignite with a known-good globe installed, the ballast is the cause of the fault and should be replaced.
