HID Headlight Fault Diagnosis

If your headlight is not illuminating, the fault is not always the globe. OEM HID systems include multiple components such as the globe, ballast, igniter, wiring, relays and fuses.

The simplest way to identify a faulty component is to swap parts from one side of the vehicle to the other. If the fault follows the globe, the globe is faulty. If the fault remains on the same side, test the ballast and igniter.

If the issue does not follow components, the fault may be related to wiring, relays or fuses. We recommend diagnosis by a qualified auto electrician.
