The DDLT004 and KDLT004 are the same ballast unit manufactured by two different OEM suppliers — Denso and Koito. The KDLS001 is an alternative Koito designation for the same unit. All three are fully interchangeable and our replacement matches either original specification exactly.
Headlight flickering, a headlight that won't ignite, or one side that cuts out after a few minutes are the most common signs of a failed DDLT004 ballast. If swapping the globe to the opposite side makes no difference, the ballast is the fault.

Both ballasts drive D4S and D4R 42V xenon globes, but they are different generations with completely different physical shapes and are not interchangeable:

Is It the Ballast or the Globe?
Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.
If the light still fails with a known-good globe, the ballast is the fault.
If the headlight works briefly then cuts out, or flickers on startup, this is typically a ballast fault rather than a globe fault.
