Headlight flickering, a headlight that won't ignite, or one side that cuts out after a few minutes are the most common signs of a failed ballast. If swapping the globe to the opposite side makes no difference, the ballast is the fault.

Is It the Ballast or the Globe?
Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.
If the light still fails with a known-good globe, the ballast is the fault.
If the headlight works briefly then cuts out, or flickers on startup, this is typically a ballast fault rather than a globe fault.

This ballast is designed exclusively to power D2S and D2R HID xenon globes. It takes a 12V DC input from your vehicle and delivers an 85V AC, 35W output to the globe. It is not compatible with D4S or D4R globes, which use a different operating voltage.
No, this replacement is supplied as the ballast unit only. The igniter (the cable that connects the ballast to the globe) is sold separately. In most cases, you can reuse your existing factory igniter if it is still in good condition.
If your HID globe is in good condition, replacing a faulty ballast will cure flickering, random shut-offs, and failure to ignite. We always recommend swapping your working globe to the faulty side first to confirm whether the globe or the ballast is the root cause of the problem.
