This is the direct OEM replacement for the AL Bosch 1307329118 series headlight control module. It is specifically designed for vehicles equipped with the Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) or cornering light option, including the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W221), C-Class (W204), Audi A3/A4/TT, and Skoda Yeti.

This multi-pin ballast (identifiable by the large connector block with the red weather seal) controls both the HID xenon globe ignition and the adaptive cornering light functions. AL (Automotive Lighting) / Bosch manufactured this ballast and assigned it internal part numbers like 1 307 329 118 01 and 1 307 329 200 02. Vehicle manufacturers then assigned their own OEM part numbers to the exact same unit, such as Mercedes' A 216 820 35 85 and Audi's 8P0 907 391.

Headlight flickering, a headlight that won't ignite, or an "Adaptive Headlight Inoperative" warning on your dashboard are the most common signs of a failed AFS ballast. If swapping the globe to the opposite side makes no difference, the ballast is the fault.

IMPORTANT: Because this ballast controls the Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), your auto electrician will need to use a scan tool to reset/code the module to the vehicle after installation. Please verify your original ballast has the matching multi-pin configuration before ordering.

Is It the Ballast or the Globe?

Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.

If the light still fails with a known-good globe, the ballast is the fault.

If the headlight works briefly then cuts out, flickers on startup, or triggers an AFS dashboard warning, this is typically a ballast fault rather than a globe fault.
