This is the OEM replacement for the Valeo 6G 89034934 headlight control module — as originally fitted to a wide range of European and American vehicles from Audi, BMW, Peugeot, Renault, Citroën, Seat, Opel, Vauxhall, Volvo, and Volkswagen.

It restores reliable, flicker-free operation to your factory D1S or D1R HID xenon headlight system. No coding, no rewiring — plug straight in and it works.

One headlight flickering, cutting out after a few minutes, or not turning on at all? These are the most common signs of a failed Valeo 6G ballast. A dashboard warning such as "Check Headlight", "Dipped Beam Failure", or "Bulb Failure Low Beam" is also a reliable indicator.

Important: The 89034934 is compatible with D1S and D1R globes only (85V, 35W). If your vehicle uses D3S, D3R, D4S, or D4R globes, you need the Valeo 7Green 89089352 instead.

Valeo 89034934 vs 89089352 — Which One Do You Need?

These two Valeo ballasts look similar but are not interchangeable. The key difference is the globe type and output voltage:

• 89034934 — Valeo 6G (this product): D1S / D1R globes only — 85V output. Narrower mounting footprint.
• 89089352 — Valeo 7Green: D3S / D3R / D4S / D4R globes — 42V, 35W. Wider mounting footprint. Land Rover, Jaguar, later Volvo, Jeep (2014–2016), Corvette, Maserati, Ferrari.

Check the part number printed on the label of your original ballast before ordering. Some vehicles used different variants across production years.

Is It the Ballast or the Globe?

Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.

If the light still fails with a known-good globe, the ballast is the fault.

If your dash shows a "Dipped Beam Failure" or "Check Headlight" warning, this is typically a ballast communication error — a globe swap alone will not resolve it.
