D1S HID System
D1S HID xenon globes operate at 85V with the igniter integrated directly into the globe base. This means when a D1S globe fails, the igniter is replaced at the same time. D1S globes are not interchangeable with D2S, D3S or D4S globes.
Always replace D1S globes with D1S to ensure correct operation with the factory ballast and headlight system.
HID Headlight Fault Diagnosis
If your headlight is not illuminating, the fault is not always the globe. OEM HID systems include multiple components such as the globe, ballast, wiring, relays and fuses.
The simplest way to identify a faulty component is to swap parts from one side of the vehicle to the other. If the fault follows the globe, the globe is faulty. If the fault remains, test the ballast.
If the issue does not follow components, the fault may be related to wiring, relays or fuses. We recommend diagnosis by a qualified auto electrician.
