This is the direct OEM replacement for the Mitsubishi Electric W3T24771 headlight control module. It is fitted to a range of modern Japanese vehicles from 2011 to 2018, including the Mazda 3 (BM), Mazda CX-5 (KE), Honda Civic, Honda CR-Z, and Mitsubishi Outlander, equipped with factory D4S or D4R HID xenon headlights.
It restores reliable, flicker-free operation to your factory HID xenon headlight system. No coding, no rewiring — plug straight in and it works.
Mitsubishi Electric manufactured this ballast and assigned it various internal part numbers across different production runs, including W3T24771, W3T22371, and W3T23371. Vehicle manufacturers then assigned their own OEM part numbers to the exact same unit, such as Mazda's BHN3-51-0H3 and Honda's 33119-SZT-G01. They are all completely interchangeable, and our replacement matches the original OEM specification exactly.
Headlight flickering, a headlight that won't ignite, or one side that cuts out after a few minutes are the most common signs of a failed ballast. If swapping the globe to the opposite side makes no difference, the ballast is the fault.
1 x Ballast unit. If both headlights are affected, add 2 to your cart.

Is It the Ballast or the Globe?
Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.
If the light still fails with a known-good globe, the ballast is the fault.
If the headlight works briefly then cuts out, or flickers on startup, this is typically a ballast fault rather than a globe fault.

Yes. Mitsubishi Electric manufactured this ballast and assigned it various internal part numbers across different production runs, including W3T24771 and W3T23371. Mazda then assigned their own OEM part numbers to the exact same unit, such as BHN3-51-0H3 and KD53-51-0H3. They are all completely interchangeable and function identically.
No. The KD53-51-0H5 part number refers to the igniter (the cable and socket that connects to the globe), not the ballast control module itself. This listing is for the ballast unit only.
This ballast is designed to power D4S and D4R HID xenon globes. It takes a 12V DC input from your vehicle and delivers a 42V AC, 35W output to the globe.
If your HID globe is in good condition, replacing a faulty ballast will cure flickering, random shut-offs, and failure to ignite. We always recommend swapping your working globe to the faulty side first to confirm whether the globe or the ballast is the root cause of the problem.
No. This OEM replacement ballast is completely plug-and-play. It connects directly to your vehicle's factory wiring harness without the need for any dealership programming, coding, or modifications.
