The Pro Vision Lighting™ D5S HID Xenon Globes are engineered as direct replacements for vehicles fitted with factory D5S HID headlight systems. Unlike most other D-series HID globes, the D5S is entirely self-contained — the ballast and igniter are built directly into the globe itself. The vehicle supplies 12V directly to the D5S connector, and the globe handles everything internally. There is no external ballast to deal with.

D5S HID globes must always be replaced as a matched pair. Installing only one globe will result in uneven light output and mismatched colour temperatures between your headlights.
Because the D5S globe is entirely self-contained and runs directly off 12V from the vehicle, fault diagnosis is straightforward. If a headlight is not working, the fault is most likely the globe itself, the wiring connector, or the vehicle's fuse or relay — there is no external ballast to test.
A simple way to test is to swap the globes from one side of the vehicle to the other. If the fault follows the globe, the globe needs replacing. If the fault stays on the same side, check the wiring, fuse, or relay on that side.

No. D5S uses a different electrical architecture and base type (PK32d-7) and is not interchangeable with any other D-series HID globe. Always confirm your globe type before purchasing.
