This is the direct OEM replacement for the AL Bosch 1 307 329 153 / 1 307 329 193 headlight control module. It is fitted to a wide range of European and American vehicles, including the BMW 3 Series (E90/E92/E93), BMW X3/X5, Mini Cooper, Audi TT, Audi R8, Cadillac DTS, and Subaru Outback, equipped with factory D1S or D3S HID xenon headlights.
It restores reliable, flicker-free operation to your factory HID xenon headlight system. No coding, no rewiring — plug straight in and it works.
AL Bosch manufactured this 5th generation ballast and assigned it various internal part numbers, most commonly 1 307 329 153 and 1 307 329 193 (including the "01" suffix variants). Vehicle manufacturers then assigned their own OEM part numbers to the exact same unit, such as BMW's 63117182520 and Audi's 8J0907391. They are all completely interchangeable, and our replacement matches the original OEM specification exactly.
Headlight flickering, a headlight that won't ignite, or one side that cuts out after a few minutes are the most common signs of a failed ballast. If swapping the globe to the opposite side makes no difference, the ballast is the fault.
1 x Ballast unit. If both headlights are affected, add 2 to your cart.

Important Note for BMW E60 / E61 / E65 / E66 / E87 Owners
This ballast (1307329153) is not compatible with the BMW 5 Series (E60/E61), 7 Series (E65/E66), or 1 Series (E87). Those models use a completely different Hella ballast (BMW part number 63126907488 / Hella 5DV009000-00). Please check your original ballast carefully before ordering.
Is It the Ballast or the Globe?
Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.
If the light still fails with a known-good globe, the ballast is the fault.
If the headlight works briefly then cuts out, or flickers on startup, this is typically a ballast fault rather than a globe fault.

Yes. AL Bosch manufactured this 5th generation ballast and assigned it various internal part numbers, including 1307329153 and 1307329193. The "01" suffix variants (e.g., 130732915301) simply indicate a minor hardware revision. All of these variations are completely interchangeable and function identically.
This ballast is designed to power D1S, D1R, D3S, and D3R HID xenon globes. It takes a 12V DC input from your vehicle and delivers an 85V AC, 35W output to the globe.
No. The BMW E60 / E61 5 Series, E65 / E66 7 Series, and E87 1 Series use a completely different ballast manufactured by Hella (BMW part number 63126907488). This AL Bosch ballast is primarily for the E90/E92/E93 3 Series, E63/E64 6 Series, X3, and X5.
If your HID globe is in good condition, replacing a faulty ballast will cure flickering, random shut-offs, and failure to ignite. We always recommend swapping your working globe to the faulty side first to confirm whether the globe or the ballast is the root cause of the problem.
No. This OEM replacement ballast is completely plug-and-play. It connects directly to your vehicle's factory wiring harness without the need for any dealership programming, coding, or modifications.
