Hella 5DV 009 610-00 — BMW & Mercedes HID Ballast Direct Replacement
This OEM replacement ballast replaces the Hella 5DV 009 610-00 Xenius headlight control module — as fitted to BMW X5M, X6, Mercedes-Benz Viano and Vito, Nissan Qashqai, Skoda Octavia, Porsche Cayenne, and Saab 9-5 from 2008 to 2018.
Plug straight in — no coding, no rewiring, no modifications required. Restores reliable, flicker-free operation to your factory HID xenon headlight system.
Common symptoms of a failed 5DV 009 610-00 ballast: one headlight flickering, failing to ignite, or a dashboard headlight warning. If the globe has been ruled out, the ballast is the most likely cause.

Is It the Ballast or the Globe?
Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.
If the light works with the known-good globe, the original globe has failed — not the ballast.
If the light still fails with a known-good globe installed, the ballast is the cause and needs to be replaced.
Flickering briefly before shutting off, or taking several attempts to ignite — this is a classic ballast fault, not a globe fault.
