OEM HID Headlight Ballast — BMW & Volvo Direct Replacement
This OEM replacement ballast replaces the Mitsubishi W3T13271 headlight control module — as fitted to BMW 3 Series E90/E91 and Volvo S80, V70, and XC70 from 2005 to 2012.
It restores reliable, flicker-free operation to your factory HID xenon headlight system. Plug straight in — no coding, no rewiring, no modifications required.
Common symptoms of a failed W3T13271 ballast: one headlight flickering, failing to ignite, or shutting off randomly. On BMW, this typically triggers a "Check Headlight" warning. On Volvo, the headlight warning indicator illuminates.
1 x Ballast unit. If both headlights are affected, add 2 to your cart.

Is It the Ballast or the Globe?
Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.
If the light works with the known-good globe, the original globe has failed — not the ballast.
If the light still fails with a known-good globe installed, the ballast is the cause and needs to be replaced.
If the headlight flickers briefly before shutting off, or takes several attempts to ignite — this is a classic ballast fault, not a globe fault.
