VW Audi 8K0941597E — OEM HID Ballast Direct Replacement
This OEM replacement ballast replaces the 8K0941597E (also written as 8K0.941.597 E) headlight control module — as fitted to Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda, Porsche, Volvo, and several other vehicles from 2008 to 2018.
Plug straight in — no coding, no rewiring, no modifications required. Restores reliable, flicker-free operation to your factory D3S, D3R, D4S, or D4R HID xenon headlight system.
Common symptoms of a failed 8K0941597E ballast: one headlight flickering, failing to ignite, or a dashboard headlight warning. If the globe has been ruled out, the ballast is the most likely cause.
1 x Ballast unit. If both headlights are affected, add 2 to your cart.

Is It the Ballast or the Globe?
Before replacing the ballast, swap the working globe from the opposite headlight into the non-working side.
If the light works with the known-good globe, the original globe has failed — not the ballast.
If the light still fails with a known-good globe installed, the ballast is the cause and needs to be replaced.
Flickering briefly before shutting off, or taking several attempts to ignite — this is a classic ballast fault, not a globe fault.
